Synopsis: A comedy about a college student on suspension who is coaxed into babysitting the kids next door, though he is fully unprepared for the wild night ahead of him.
Gut Reaction: Jonah Hill is having a great career so far. As part of the Judd Apatow crew, his work has stayed steady. He stole the show in Super Bad and arguably has had a more enjoyable career than his co-star, Michael Cera. The Sitter looks like a modern day retelling of Adventures in Babysitting. If that is the case (which obviously it is) I can only hope that Hill is warned not to “F” with the Lords of Hell, to which he retorts that they, in fact, should not “F” with the babysitter.
Target Audience: 15-35; comedy fans; date night. Get ready for rauchy humor and kids saying dirty words.
It’s Kinda Like: Every other Jonah Hill movie minus Funny People
Bold Prediction: The Sitter is going to do about 25M opening weekend losing out to New Year’s Eve for box office domination in December.
